Viewers experiencing the following symptoms on their Freesat SD/ HD receiver may require the assistance of a professional Freesat Support Service Engineer to remedy their signal reception difficulties:
Main symptoms of signal problems
- Pictures breaking up on all channels
- Pictures breaking up on some channels only
- Pictures blocking during bad weather
- No pictures, just White Noise (snow/ sparklies on the screen)
- Some channels appear to be missing
- Intermittent signal loss (Picture & sound)
- Freesat screen showing ‘No Signal’
The illustrated symptoms can all be directly related to either poor signal reception or inadequate signal distribution between the Freesat Dish and the Viewers Freesat Receiver (Freesat STB, Freesat DTR or Freesat TV - IDTV)
Whilst individual cases are always site specific, signal problems can be caused by things such as poor dish alignment, faulty dish electronics (LNB), downlead signal cabling or product connections.
Freesat Support would always recommend that Viewers call upon the services of an experienced Freesat Engineer to properly diagnose their fault using digital test equipment as DIY solutions rarely solve the problem.
Once diagnosed the Engineer should be able to repair the problem using high quality parts which are suitable for Freesat reception before carrying out a final inspection of the received Freesat services to make sure that the system is fully operational.
